Key Responsibilities

Protection and Safety Operations

• Protect employees, visitors, buildings, vehicles, and assets
• Maintain a safe and secure environment
• Ensure the wellbeing of all personnel on site

Access Control and Visitor Management

• Monitor and control site access points
• Regulate entry and exit procedures
• Manage visitor access
• Direct traffic when required

Patrols and Surveillance

• Conduct regular patrols of buildings and perimeter areas
• Monitor CCTV systems and alarms
• Observe security infrastructure and report concerns

Incident Response and Reporting

• Respond to emergencies and security incidents
• Investigate irregular activities
• Activate alarms and emergency procedures when necessary
• Complete incident and occurrence reports

Compliance and Security Enforcement

• Enforce site security procedures and regulations
• Support evacuation and emergency response processes
• Assist with fire prevention and accident investigations
• Ensure compliance with security legislation

Equipment Monitoring

• Conduct routine inspections of security equipment
• Report faults and defects immediately
• Ensure operational readiness of all equipment

Customer Service

• Provide professional customer service
• Engage positively with clients, visitors, and staff
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct

Risk Identification

• Detect suspicious behaviour
• Identify security vulnerabilities
• Report potential threats proactively

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• Valid PSIRA Certificate (Minimum Grade C)
• Matric / Grade 12
• Previous security experience
• Knowledge of access control systems
• Knowledge of CCTV and alarm systems
• Good observation and reporting skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage conflict professionally

Advantageous Requirements

• Valid driver’s licence
• Firearm competency for business purposes
