The Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Driver/Messenger Vacancy 2026. This opportunity is based in Pretoria and offers a salary package of R170,226 per annum (Level 03).

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4 recognised by SAQA.
  • A valid Code 8/B Driver’s Licence.
  • At least five (5) years of driving experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Delivery and Collection Services

  • Collecting and delivering documents, parcels, and equipment.
  • Transporting items between DCoG offices and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of official documents.

Chauffeur Services

  • Providing chauffeur services when required.
  • Transporting officials to meetings and official engagements.

Vehicle Management

  • Conducting daily vehicle inspections.
  • Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements.
  • Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy.

Fleet Administration Support

  • Delivering and collecting vehicles scheduled for servicing and repairs.
  • Assisting with the issuing of departmental vehicles.
  • Supporting vehicle logbook reconciliation processes.

Important Application Requirements
