HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
Sasol Mining owns and operates six coal mines in Southern Africa that provide feedstock for our integrated value chain. Secunda Synfuels Operations’ (SSO) coal is mostly utilized as a gasification feedstock, although some is also used to create power. Sasolburg Operations (SO) uses the coal provided to create power and steam. Additionally, we export coal from the Twistdraai Export Plant through the Richards Bay Coal Terminal to worldwide power generating clients.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The general worker will help the maintenance team by providing efficient assistance and dependability with equipment maintenance while sticking to procedures and also increasing equipment sustainability.
STONEWORK GENERAL WORKER REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM
To be considered for the interview, you must have at least one of the following requirements: Grade 12/N3/NCV Level 4 with Maths and Science. You will have an advantage if you have at least a level 2 mechanical engineering qualification. The selected individual will be asked to undergo a medical examination.
Experience in underground coal mining for a period of 12 months would be desirable.
If you do not fulfill the minimal criteria, you may apply PROVINCIAL TREASURY CLEANERS that needs just ABET certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Accurately complete job-specific tasks/checklists, giving close attention to details. Visual inspection of the workplace to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to report any dangerous circumstances to the supervisor. Application of job-specific SOPs and COPs to guarantee adherence to housekeeping requirements. Work efficiently and effectively as a team member to accomplish team objectives. Identify and implement cost-cutting measures. Keep a record of all task actions. Identification of hazards/assessment of task-related risks Daily morning meetings are held to discuss work responsibilities. By adhering to deadlines, you may contribute to the business’s objectives and vision.
