Vanderkloof Dam GENERAL WORKER (16X) REF NO.: 201221/13
Department of water and sanitation is looking for 16 candidates to apply for the Vanderkloof Dam general workers position. This position is in a branch of Infrastructure Management Central Operations. The successful candidate will get paid R8 672.7 Per Month. The place to stay will be provided by the department.

A certificate from ABET. One (1) to two (2) years of experience performing physical labour, such as general cleaning, will be an asset. Communication skills and the capacity to work in a team are required. It is necessary to have a basic understanding of how to use equipment, tools, and light machinery. It is necessary to be prompt and productive. Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS). Must be able to work in restricted areas away from the office for extended periods of time. Work must be done in or near rivers and dams. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
The duties and responsibilities
General cleaning and mild maintenance work on the dam wall galleries. To assist the Assistant Technical Officers in executing maintenance and cleaning work in and around the dam wall. Assist the Assistant Technical Officers in carrying out Maintenance Plan projects in and around the dam wall. Maintain the cleanliness of buildings. Maintain the cleanliness of grids. Inspect measurement structures for cracks and report any flaws. The Raw Water Pump Station is being cleaned. Provide assistance to plant operators. Any defaults should be reported.
