Carletonville Hospital General Workers REF NO.: refs/012278

Gauteng Department of Health is looking for hospital general workers who will work in the directorate of administration. The successful candidate will get paid Package: R102 534 – 120 780 PER ANNUM (PLUS BENEFITS)

Requirements

ABET level 4 or a minimum of grade 10. Must be able to read and write. Be able to communicate in more than one of the official local languages. Good verbal and written communication. Be prepared to work shifts and weekends. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety act. Understanding of the Batho Pele Principles. Knowledge of customer care and be willing to work in a team. Experience as a porter will be an added advantage.

Duties

Escort /accompany patients to various sections/departments of the hospital. Use wheelchairs/stretchers to move patients from one point to the other. Load and offloading of patients from ambulances and private cars. Render assistance to medical, nursing and the allied team regarding moving patients and patients documents from one point to the other.

Collect corpses from the ward to the mortuary, issue corpses to funeral undertakers and relatives. Collect and clean wheelchairs and stretchers. Record mortuary temperatures twice per day (morning and evening). Provide mortuary statistics to the supervisor/manager when requested. Perform any work within the scope as requested by the supervisor.
